Japan to help build energy projects in Pakistan

M S Tanvir

Islamabad—Japan has expressed its readiness to help build thermal and hydel projects in Pakistan to help
overcome the energy crisis.
This was stated by the Japanese Ambassador Seiji Kojima in an interview with Pakistan Observer here on
Wednesday.
He said besides thermal and hydel projects, Japan would also be interested in renewable energy projects.
He described investment climate in Pakistan as most conducive.
He lauded Pakistan’s role in the fight against terrorism and said in fact Pakistan was fighting its own war
against terrorism.
He said because of its geo-political and geo-strategic location and the construction of Gwadar Port, Pakistan
has become economic hub and important corridor for foreign countries.
