Zardari meets Sherpao
Zardari symbol of federation, says Gilani

Islamabad—Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Wednesday said the country’s president should be the
symbol of federation, adding the nomination of Asif Ali Zardari as presidential candidate was made on the
same principle.
The Prime Minister was speaking to mediapersons after meeting Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao,
leader PPP (Sherpao) at his residence to seek his faction’s support for Asif Ali Zardari in the upcoming
presidential election.
The Prime Minister said Sherpao faction had similar views as Pakistan Peoples Party on the issues
of sovereignty of parliament, democracy and political stability.
Regarding PPP’s position in Balochistan assembly on presidential election, the Prime Minister said
the provincial government enjoyed complete support of all political parties in the House.
He said the nation would soon hear a “good news about Balochistan”.
Aftab Sherpao said his party would take a decision at a meeting later in the day to develop a
consensus on its stance about favouring the PPP presidential candidate.
When asked about his opinion on judges issue, he said he fully supported their
reinstatement.—APP
