Nestle CSR commits - from Community help to Institutional development

Karachi—The Nestle management remains committed to the fact for creating shared value for the communities they live and work with.
Nestle Pakistan has been awarded CSR awards for 2008 by Pakistan Centre of Philanthropy and also by the help line trust respectively. Nestle Pakistan has been committed to community development in many sectors including nutrition, water, environment, health, education and farmers development.
This year Nestle constructed a drinking water filtration plant plant for the Sheikhupura District Hospital and also commits to construct an additional patients ward. In terms of education, Nestle till date has refurbished 8 schools at Sheikhupura, Sargodha, Kabirwala, Baseer Pur, Hasil Pur, Khanewal, and Arifwala other areas with and estimated cost of Rs20 Million.
It has institutional agreements with LUMS University, University of Agriculture Faisalabad, and Veterinary University Lahore for enhanced research and merit scholarships totaling Rs290 Million over 5 years. For the humanitarian help, Nestle Pakistan signed MOU with the SOS children village for the rehabilitation of orphans of the AJK earthquake.
