Girls bag top positions in BIEK Pre-Medical Annual
Exam
Karachi—Girls bagged five out of the top six positions
in the Class XII Science Pre-Medical Annual Examination 2008.
The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) notified the result
on Wednesday.
According to the consolidated merit positions, Ailiya Rizvi of the
BAMM PECHS Government College for Women remained on top. She secured
993 marks out of the maximum of 1,100 with a percentage of 90.27.
Whereas her college mate Anam Hareem remained second with 985 marks.
Mohammad Danish Saleem of the Aga Khan Higher Secondary School,
karimabad, was placed in this position with 969.
The fourth position went to Wardah Asif Qureshi also of the Aga Khan
Higher Secondary School Karimabad. Yumnah Khalid and Sadia Khan of
BAMM PECHS Government College for Women obtained fifth and sixth
positions respectively with 964 and 963 marks each.
According to statistics, 16,525 candidates appeared in the examination
and 8,480 were declared as successful with a pass percentage of 51.32.
A total of 607 candidates were placed in A-1 grade whereas 2,255 got A
grade.
The number of candidates placed in B grade was 2,774 and 2,234
obtained C grade. The candidates who secured D grade were 593 while
six candidates cleared the examination with E grade.
A BIEK statement said that marks statements will be sent to the
respective institutions. The statement made it clear that no marks
statement will at all be issued from the Board’s premises.—APP
