CDA to install more water filtration plants

Thursday, December 13, 2012 - Islamabad—Capital Development Authority (CDA) would install ten more water filtration plants in different areas of Islamabad to help ensure provision of clean drinking water to the residents.

Chairman CDA Syed Tahir Shahbaz announced this while visiting different filtration plants in city. He said that CDA would extend all possible resources to facilitate the residents and provide them clean drinking water. New filtration plants would be set up in Sector I-9/4, G-10/4, G-9/3 near CDA blocks, G-9/4 near Jahngir Market, G-7/1 I and T centre, F-8 Markaz, E-7 Markaz, Blue Area , G-9 markaz, G-11 Markaz and one in G-11 near PHA Flats.

He said that all water filtration plants installed in Islamabad would be properly maintained to provide clean water facility.

Member Engineering, CDA Sanaullah Aman appraised the Chairman that 30 filtration plants have been upgraded and maintenance work on remaining would be completed soon. He appraised that new filtration plants are being Installed need basis.

Chairman Capital Development Authority directed Member Engineering, to take steps for controlling leakages from rusted and dilapidated water supply pipelines network which will be not only help in overcoming of problem of water shortage but also help in regular water supply especially during the summer seasons.

He further directed that water tanker service would be improved so that public complaints could be addressed promptly.
