Vitamin-A deficiency kills 4,000 children globally: Experts

Peshawar— Prescribing proper intake of Vitamin A for human health, experts have said that Vitamin A deficiency affect up to 250 million children of five year globally while 4,000 children die due its deficiency adding that 3.5 million children are affected by vitamin A deficiency in Pakistan. These experts were addressing at a one-day sensitization workshop on Vitamin A Supplementation. in Peshawar. Provincial Health Department and Micronutrient Initiative (MI) jointly arranged the Workshop. Dr. Mujahid Hussain Deputy Director EPI, Khalid Iqbal, Provincial Coordinator, MI and Dr.Mustafa Alam spoke on the occasion.
