Armed men loot Rs15.5m from bank

Karachi—A gang of 8 armed-men looted Rs15.5 million from a branch of MCB near Water Pump Chowrangi on Monday and fled from the scene.

According to Police sources, the money was being transferred to a security company van at MCB branch near Water Pump Chowrangi when the criminals assaulted the van.

They looted the bags of money at gunpoint, and managed to escape the scene, leaving a motorcyl and a pistol behind.

Police head constable Mazhar Abbas and three private security guards, namely Abdul Rashid, Atif and Fayyaz, were wounded when they retaliated against the culprits.

An investigation is now underway, and the Police have lodged an First Information Report of the incident against unknown persons, though no arrests have been made yet.
