Gas cylinder blast kills newly-wed couple

Peshawar—A CNG cylinder blast in a vehicle here at the G T road Monday morning left a newly-wed couple dead while seven others sustained injuries including a boy belonging to Sikh community.

According to details one Musharraf Pervez hailing from Peshawar who was married some three months back, was going for honeymoon to Rawalpindi in his friend’s vehicle, Sajid Gul. When the ill-fated vehicle reached a CNG station near Lahore bus terminal for refueling, the gas cylinder in the vehicle went off as a result of which Musharraf Pervez son of Muhammad Pervez along his wife died on the spot while his friend Sajid Gul sustained serious injuries.

Others injured in the blast include Shakeel son of Jannat Gul, Sartaj son of Noorzada, a bus driver standing near the CNG pump, Saeed and a Sikh boy Skameet Singh. They were rushed to Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) for treatment while the hospital administration enforced emergency when they heard about the blast.
