Gilani leaves for Egypt tomorrow

Islamabad—Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani will pay a four-day visit to Egypt from May 17 to 20 to attend the World Economic Forum on Middle East, Foreign Office spokesman Muhammad Sadiq said here on Thursday.
Besides addressing special session entitled ‘Global leader in the spotlight’ Prime Minister Gilani is expected to meet President Bush on the sidelines of the meeting.
The spokesman said Pakistan has been regular participant in the Forums’s activities at the highest level. The Prime Minister will address the Arab Business Council on May 19.
The Forum will provide an opportunity for interaction with region’s key political and economic leaders, and presentation of Pakistan’s perspective on the political and economic issues.
The spokesman said Prime Minister Gilani is also expected to meet other leaders on the sidelines of the meeting including Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, Afghan President Hamid Karzai, Egyptian Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif and Prime Minister of Palestinian Authority Salam Fayyad.
The World Economic Forum is an independent international organization committed to improving the state of the world by engaging leaders in partnerships to shape global, regional and industry agendas.
