‘Scouts Programme boost youngsters confidence’

Islamabad—Scouts Prog-ramme boost the confidence of youngsters through providing them better orientation towards good citizenship and self-reliance.
This was observed by the participants of a World Scouts Bureau of Asia Pacific Region in a programme during their visit to Pakistan Boys Scouts Association on Thursday.
The recognition of Scouts Programme is acknowledged by the government and society, wherein they have always proved to be most useful segments of society, role model for others, and the “best youth of our country”, the participants observed.
Provincial Secretary Sindh, Boys Scouts Association (BSA), Lt. Col. Shah Ali told that BSA was established to provide a broadly based platform for Scout members to embark on an early path of leadership learning and personal development.
It was also aimed to develop leadership skills of Scout members and participants through dynamic and real world oriented experiential learning in a two-tier programme. National Secretary, Hashmat Abbas, said that the organizational structure of Pakistan Boys Scout Association (PBSA) is composed of a reasonable ratio of professional and volunteers.
PBSA , he said, was working in complete harmony with 9 Provincial Scouts Associations, enjoying autonomous status in their respective areas. The Provincial Associations can propose amendments or suggest any change in the POR as they have their own Provincial Councils, Executive Committees and Finance Committees to run their affairs.
The participants urged the World Scout Bureau for extending liberal sponsorship to Training, Programme and Development of vast, scenic and beautiful Campsite or any other World Organization under the influence of World Organization of Scout Movement could be oriented to help Pakistan Scouting.
It was suggested in the workshop that UNICEF and UNESCO World Wild Life or any other sponsoring agency to give a programme on the same line as “Pyramids of Egypt” are on the score of UNESCO to invite Youth from the World over to enrich their cultural vision.—APP
