Islamabad—Pakistan Muslim League (N) has decided to quit federal cabinet as the issue of restoration of deposed judges could not be resolved on the given date that expired last night.
Addressing a news conference here Monday after the meeting of the Central Working Committee and Parliamentary Party PML (N) leader, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said, PML Ministers will meet the Prime Minister in the Federal Cabinet and tender their resignations today.

Optimism runs in my blood and I always believed and history bears testimony to the fact that this nation of 160 million has the inherent strength and time-tested resilience to keep itself afloat despite all odds and hostile factors. It is often said that this country had been passing through crisis after crisis ever since its inception in 1947 but it could be said without fear of contradiction that now it was really facing a crisis of serious magnitude, which, God forbid, may ultimately turn this country of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah into a banana republic. At least, this is what the vast majority of people of Pakistan feel.

2.5 m tons wheat to be imported for reserves

Islamabad—Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has asked the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to import additional 2.5 million tons of wheat, including the 1.5 million tons already approved by the ECC, in addition to procurement from the local market in order to build strategic reserves for meeting country’s future requirements.
