US offers $ 7b non-mily aid package
Promises to curb air strikes

London—The US has promised to curb air strikes by drones against suspected militants in Pakistan, as part of a joint counter-terrorism strategy agreed with the new civilian government in Islamabad, the Guardian London has claimed. That strategy will be supported by an aid package, potentially worth more than $7b (£3.55b), which is due to go before Congress for approval in the next few months.

Clashes continue in Khyber Agency

Peshawar—As the bloody clashes between Islamic militia Lashkar e Islam led by one Mangal Bagh and the Kooki Khel tribe of Khyber Agency continued on Thursday, tens of people from both sides succumbed to their injuries. While the official sources confirmed the death of Twelve people, the independent sources put the casualties at more than 25.

WB calls for re-evaluation of education policy

The report presents facts and findings from a survey of all public and private primary schools in 112 villages in Pakistan’s Punjab province, and lays out important policy options based on detailed data to facilitate evidence-based policymaking.

Rawalpindi —Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani has expressed satisfaction over the effectiveness of Command and Control Structures of Pakistan’s nuclear capability. He said that the structures, which have now matured, were well conceived and elaborate. It has been ensured that while our nuclear assets are safe and secure, the force development as per needs of Pakistan’s minimum deterrence is progressing well, he added.
