MQM boycotts Sindh Assembly

Karachi—MQM has decided to boycott the Sindh Assembly session for indefinite period. According to MQM sources, the decision in this regard was taken by the party’s Rabita Committee. According to MQM sources, the decision in this regard was taken by the party’s Rabita Committee.
It said that boycott decision was taken in view of misbehaviour with MQM women at the gate of Sindh Assembly building and misbehaviour with former chief minister Dr. Arbab Ghulam Rahim. Islamabad—Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Monday reiterated the resolve of his government to adopt a multi-pronged strategy to address the issue of terrorism and extremism. Talking to the visiting UK Home Secretary Jacqui Smith at PM House, he said the new democratic government would incorporate both short and long term measures to confront terrorism which is a global phenomenon and the world community should focus on its root causes which stem from economic disparity and unresolved political issues.
