Kashmiris express grief over death of Malik’s fatherSrinagar—In occupied Kashmir, leaders of pro-movement and pro-India parties have expressed grief and sorrow over the death of Ghulam Qadir Malik, the father of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Mohammad Yasin Malik, who passed away in Srinagar on Monday. The family said that the deceased on complaint of chest trouble was admitted at Chest Diseases Hospital, Srinagar on Monday, where he passed away. His funeral prayers will be held at Lal Chowk today (Tuesday) at 2 pm. He will be laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in Dalgate. Ghulam Qadir Malik is survived by a son, Mohammad Yasin Malik, and three daughters.Typhoid epidemic outbreak in PallanwallaJammu—Typhoid disease outbreak has been reported in an epidemic form in village Kharah near Pallanwalla, 50 kilometers from here during the past few days with medical centres confirming 40 positive cases out of a total of 65. According to official sources, the epidemic outbreak was first reported early last week but the medical authorities ignored the signs of the disease. Dozens of villagers have been reporting to the Primary Health Centres (PHCs) with high grade fever during the past few days, but complacency on the part of the medical authorities aggravated the situation.

Four civilians injured in IHK blastSrinagar—In occupied Kashmir, four civilians were injured in a grenade blast in Islamabad district. The grenade exploded at Sangam Chowk in the district, police officials said. Four civilians including Dr Manzoor Ahma d, Mohammad Ashraf and Javed Ahmad were injur ed in the incident. All injured were shifted to Sub-Divisional Hospital Bijbehara and from there Dr Manzoor and Mohammad Ashraf were referred to Soura Institute of Medical Sciences in Srinagar for further treatment. |
