Cops role vital to mitigate sufferings of people

Islamabad—Senior Superintendent of Police Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf Malik has directed police officials to take effective steps to control crime and adopt a professional as well as responsible attitude to mitigate the sufferings of the people. He stated this while addressing the crime meeting here held to review the progress of Industrial Area zones, Crime Investigation Agency and Anti-Car Lifting Cell. The meet-ing was attended by SP Industrial Area City Ishaq Warraich, SP (Investigation) Ch. Liaqat, In-Charge CIA Bashir Ahmed Noon, In- Charge ACLC Altaf Aziz Khatak, SHO I-9 police station Rukhsar Mehdi, SHO Sabzi Mandi, all Investigation Officers and others police officials.

Qur’an, Book of guidance: Dr Nazir

Islamabad—Vice Chancellor Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Dr Nazir Ahmed Sangi, here on Wednesday said Holy Quran is a light for mankind and everyone should try to understand and ponder over it. Addressing the 6th International Mehfil-e-Husn-e-Qir’at Dr. Sangi said they should follow the true teachings and seek guidance from the Holy Quran to get rid of the problems being faced by the mankind.

CDA Directed to improve funeral services

Islamabad—Chairman Prime Minister Task Force, Faisal Sakhi Butt in a recent meeting has directed Capital Development Authority (CDA) to improve the facilities at the graveyards and construct halls for facilitating funeral services. Taking notice of the agonies of the bereaved families, Butt has directed the CDA to construct halls along with graveyards to facilitate the residents for arranging their memorial gatherings.

Bait-ul-Maal to sponsor all orphan students at NUML

Islamabad—Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal (PBM) would provide sponsorships to all orphan students of National University of Modern Languages (NUML), to make them active and educated member of the society. This was stated by the Chairman Bait-ul-Maal Zumurad Khan while talking to the Rector NUML, Maj Gen (Retd) Masood Hasan on Wednesday. The Chairman Bait-ul-Maal visited NUML and met the Rector NUML to discuss different future plan of Bait-ul-Maal for orphan students.

Wisdom of a seventh day rest

THROUGHOUT the ages, human society has always seemed to allocate one day per week as a rest day. For Jews, it’s Saturday; for Moslems, Friday; and for Christians, Sunday. Even those who do not adhere to any specific religion seem to take it as a given that they work six days a week, and one of those days will be a “day off” from work. Pak-Iran ties boosting regional peace: Naek

He emphasized increasing economic and technological cooperation and establishing connectivity through railroad linkages for ultimate progress and prosperity of their people as well as of the whole region.

Joint ventures offered to promote defence production

Rawalpindi—Federal Defence Minister Ch. Ahmad Mukhtar on Wednesday stressed the need for availing various training facilities in Pakistan by the Czech Military, including joint ventures to promote defence production. During his meeting with Ambassador of Czech Republic, Miroslav Krench, held here at Ministry of Defence to explore new avenues of Defence Cooperation between the two coun-tries, the Defence Minister appreciated support of the Czech government during earthquake of 2005. Similarly, satisfaction was conveyed on military support provided to Pakistan’s armed forces in providing various equipment for the Air Force and overhauling of Army Aviation assets.
